What is an Intuitive (Tarot) Reading?

Most of us have heard of a tarot reading, but what about an intuitive reading? Personally, this is how I classify my readings. They are more about energy than just the cards themselves. As a result, different tools beyond a single deck of cards come into play. These can be tarot cards (classic, yes?), oracle cards, runes, dice or charms, ink scrying and maybe even something else. There’s also just the fact that some things won’t even come through the tools themselves.

This is where that word intuition comes into play. We all have it, including you. It’s what gives us a connection and understanding of something beyond the surface. As a result, no two readings are the same. Sometimes clear structure is called for with what’s called a spread, where specific cards are laid out in a certain manner. Other times, we’re going to just work with the tools and see what shows up.

An intuitive reading also means you don’t have to come in with a specific question. If there is a certain topic on hand for you, we may work together on a concise question for more precise clarity. Then we have more general readings, which can be beneficial with sorting through the overwhelm and looking into where you can create focus for yourself. We can also dig into “shadow work” and look into what’s unseen.

Regardless of the tools that come into practice, the reading is intended to meet you where you are and help provide insights and clarity to support your journey to connecting with your own wisdom and taking action in your life. My readings are not the stereotypical “predictive” tarot spread where I tell you how things happen to you.
